Report: DNA evidence does not confirm Patrick Kane rape allegation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WLS) -- DNA evidence does not confirm a woman's allegations that Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane raped her, according to the Buffalo News, which talked to four sources familiar with the case.

Those sources say DNA tests taken from a rape kit conducted on the woman found no trace of Kane's DNA below the woman's waist.

Legal experts say the lack of DNA evidence does not necessarily mean a sexual assault did not occur.

Authorities are examining other evidence to try to determine what happened between the woman and Kane at his home in Hamburg, N.Y.
