Roundball chatter

Each week, I'll write about the sport I love: college basketball.

Rick Pitino continues to plug along at Louisville. At age 62, he is locked up to coach the Cardinals for a long time, agreeing to a new extension through the 2025-26 season. There is little doubt that Pitino will finish his career with Louisville.

Charlotte's losses were big gains for the ACC. Torin Dorn, the Conference USA Diaper Dandy of the Year, transferred to NC State. He led the 49ers at 12 PPG last season. Keyshawn Woods, who led the league in 3-point shooting percentage, landed at Wake Forest.

Murray State found a replacement for Steve Prohm pretty quickly. Matt McMahon, who was a Murray State assistant before going to Louisiana Tech, returned to become head coach of the Racers.

There is no doubt that Jahlil Okafor will make a major impact immediately at the next level. He has super skills and a fabulous winner's attitude. I feel his defense will improve.

Good to see that New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), known for its upset of Michigan, is no longer the lone independent in college hoops, baby! NJIT is joining the Atlantic Sun.
