Sources: Adam Gase expected to interview with three teams

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase is scheduled to interview for head-coaching jobs with the Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns in the next few days, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini on Sunday.

Gase, 37, interviewed with the San Francisco 49ers last season before being passed over for their head-coaching job in favor of Jim Tomsula, the Niners' defensive line coach from 2007 through 2014. Tomsula was fired Sunday after the Niners went 5-11.

With Gase calling plays, the Bears rank tied for 24th in points scored (21.0), 20th in total offense (346.5), 16th in rushing offense (110.7) and 21st in passing offense (235.7).

He has helped quarterback Jay Cutler cut down on his turnovers after leading the league a year ago.

Gase spent the previous six seasons on Denver's staff, including the last two as offensive coordinator. The Broncos led the NFL in scoring and total offense the last two years.

He did that with Peyton Manning at quarterback. In Chicago he has done something previous coordinators Ron Turner, Mike Marta, Mike Tice and Aaron Kromer struggled to do -- connect with the quarterback.

"If he gets that shot, I'm excited for him,'' Cutler said. "I think he deserves it. He's done some really good things in this league and they speak for themselves, whether it's Tim Tebow or Peyton or myself or Kyle Orton. Whoever he's worked with he's found ways to manage the system and make them successful.''
