Chicago White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier was presented the overall Heart & Hustle Award on Tuesday night at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association's Legends for Youth Dinner in New York.
The Heart & Hustle Award, createdin 2005 by the alumni association, is "presented annually to an active player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game."
There is a Heart & Hustle Award winner for all 30 major league teams. Fans, alumni and active players vote to select the overall winner.
Frazier finished 2016 with40 home runs and 98 RBIs, both career highs, after being traded by the Cincinnati Reds last December. He slashed .225/.302/.464 and had 64 walks in 158 games.
New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius was the other finalist for the award.
