The Chicago Cubs could use some more pitching -- who can't in a playoff hunt? -- and Jonathan Papelbon is set to announce where he will sign in the next 24 hours, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
The case for Papelbon? He has 368 career saves, including 19 this season with the Washington Nationals. He would fit right in in the seventh and eighth inning for the Cubs. He previously pitched under the Theo Epstein regime in Boston, so he's a known commodity to the front office.
The case against? Papelbon has had declining velocity this season and is 2-4 with a 4.37 ERA.
Is Papelbon worth the risk?
