Stanley Cup heads out on the town
The Stanley Cup headed out for a night on the town after attending the Cubs game Tuesday.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- It's tradition. Lord Stanley's Cup, once again in the custody of the Chicago Blackhawks, now begins its tour around the city. It's up to fans to figure out where it is and where it's going.

The Cup arrived at Wrigley Field just before 7 p.m. for Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Indians. The team gathered on the mound before Jonathan Toews threw out the first pitch.

Fans were waiting at every turn as The Cup left the Friendly Confines and traveled down Clark Street to Rockit Burger Bar and Sluggers. Then, The Cup continued its night on the town at Tavern on Rush in Gold Coast late Tuesday night.

Before the game, The Cup made an appearance at a rooftop party at Patrick Sharp's home in Wrigleyville.

A LATE NIGHT AT THE CLUB

Hours after the Chicago Blackhawks won Game 6 against Tampa Bay, the Stanley Cup finally left the United Center locker room around 4 a.m. Tuesday and traveled to the MID nightclub in the Fulton District. Around 5:45 a.m., The Cup called it a night.

About 50 fans waited outside the club hoping to catch a glimpse of it.

"We started chasing them from Pony. Then we came here, realized they weren't here. Then we went to the United Center, and then we saw the limos leave, and then we chased them all the way here again. So we're back, and we got to see The Cup," said Jennifer Imparato.

Some of the Hawks team, including Brandon Saad and Coach Joel Quennville, left MID around 5:30 a.m. The Cup left a short time later, around 5:45 a.m. and was taken back to the UC in a black SUV.

After a quick nap, The Cup was back out on the town for lunch at Phil Stefani's 437 Rush restaurant in River North, where Rocky Wirtz and other Blackhawks staff were waiting around noon. The Cup then returned to the United Center.

The best way to track it is on Twitter with #cuptracker

Tracking The Cup is just one of the traditions. Coach Quennville's Hinsdale neighbors kept up another one by TP'ing his home.

Keeping with tradition, Coach Q's neighbors have once again celebrated the Stanley Cup win by TP'ing his west suburban home.

And near the UC, Palace Grill has a new look. An artist updated its mural, which now says "Stanley Cup 2015." The Palace Grill is a traditional dining spot for Hawks fans and players.

It's the Blackhawks' third Stanley Cup in six years.

Tuesday morning, President Barack Obama congratulated his hometown Hawks:

"Congrats to my hometown @NHLBlackhawks on 3 titles in 6 years - we'll see you and The Cup at the White House!" he tweeted on the @POTUS account.

WRIGLEYVILLE PARTY MOSTLY PEACEFUL

In Wrigleyville, the party on Clark started within moments of the big win as thousands of fans poured into the street.

But this time, there were no sidewalk barricades and revelers were not met by Chicago police intent on keeping the street clear.

Authorities blockaded entry to Clark Street so that Stanley Cup revelers had full run of the Wrigleyville corridor.

Chicago police said they made four felony arrests and 21 misdemeanor arrests on Monday night. Five officers suffered non-life threatening injuries and several squad cars and an undercover vehicle were vandalized with broken windows, keyed, and/or punctured tires.

CHAMPIONSHIP SHIRTS

A lot of fans want to wear this victory on their sleeves, literally. Official T-shirts are now for sale, and there is a rush to get them.

"I'm getting shirts for my friends that grew up with me in Valparaiso, Indiana. They're now in San Francisco. They're excited to get T-shirts," said fan Prudente Carlos.

Sports Authority customers loaded their arms full of hats and T-shirts.

One store sold out of championship caps before they closed at 1 a.m.

"The locker room hat is always the most coveted item, and of course, this year we were set, having the hat on hand, a large number on hand, but they didn't last very long. People came in, and that was the first item they were looking for. But good news, we have more on the way, much more today coming in than last night," said Jonathan Trevor, Sports Authority Store manager.

The store reopened at 6 a.m. Men's shirts are for sale for $26. Women's shirts are selling for $32.
