CHICAGO -- Slipping on the dugout steps has sent Chicago White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon to the 15-day disabled list.

Baseball's latest bizarre injury claimed the 23-year-old starter, who sprained his left wrist bracing his fall as he stumbled trying to get on the field for the national anthem before Friday night's game against the Atlanta Braves.

Rodon was wearing a brace on his left wrist Saturday morning. Manager Robin Ventura said Rodon is "not too graceful."

The DL stint is retroactive to Wednesday. Rodon was tagged for six runs and a season high-tying 12 hits over five innings in a 9-0 loss to the New York Yankees a day earlier.

Right-handed reliever Tommy Kahnle was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. He has a 6.23 ERA in five appearances with Chicago this season.
