KENOSHA, Wis. (WLS) -- All lanes of northbound I-94 were shut down for about eight hours at Route 50 after a semi truck carrying a full load hit the median wall and overturned near Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The semi, carrying 42,000 lbs. of rock-form product used in steel production, crashed around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Crews had to off-load the product before the semi could be towed. The driver was not injured.
Traffic was diverted at Route 50 and directed back onto northbound I-94. The backup extended up to two miles during the peak of rush hour Tuesday morning.
All lanes of northbound I-94 were back open at Hwy 50 by 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
