Car catches fire after I-55 crash near County Line Road

BURR RIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- Weather may be to blame for a fiery crash overnight in southwest suburban Burr Ridge.

Police said a car veered off I-55 just before County Line Road around 1 a.m. Friday during heavy rain, crashed on an embankment and burst into flames.

The driver and passenger were able to get out before the car caught fire. They were not injured in the crash.
