CDOT releases sobering video of red light runners

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Department of Transportation released a crash video of accidents caused by drivers running red lights as a sobering reminder to drive safely during the holidays.

CDOT says the images are a reminder to obey traffic signals and drive the posted speed.

Nearly 80,000 crashes a year happen in Chicago.
