I-55 NB lanes reopened after crash near Burr Ridge

BURR RIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- Crews are investigating an accident involving a semi and a car in the northbound lanes of I-55 near Burr Ridge, police said.

Investigators say a semi truck was stopped on the right shoulder when a car swerved off the road, going under the semi Friday afternoon near County Line Road. The car then caught on fire.

The northbound lanes of I-55 were closed during the Friday evening rush hour. All lanes reopened as of 6:45 p.m., state police said.
