CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Metra train derailment near Union Station impacted Friday afternoon commutes along the Milwaukee North, Milwaukee West and North Central Service lines.
Metra says the derailment took place near Canal Street right outside Union Station around 3:30 p.m. The train was moved shortly before 6:15 p.m. Crews remain on the scene to inspect the tracks.
Inbound and outbound trains on the Milwaukee North, Milwaukee West and North Central Service lines were delayed. The Heritage Corridor Line was also be delayed due to equipment problems.
No injuries were reported in the derailment. The train remained upright but the wheels came off the track. No passengers were on the train. The crew was coming in to pick up passengers and then head out.
