Chicago weather: Wind Chill Advisory in effect throughout area
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Bundle up! Dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills will extend into Monday throughout the Chicago area.
Temperatures across the area are in the single digits with some areas in the northern suburbs dipping below zero - and area wind chills are even colder. Temperatures stayed in the single digits throughout Sunday, and wind chills were expected to dip to -10 degrees overnight.
There have been six cold-related deaths this season.
The latest was early Saturday, when 87-year-old woman Bernice Green was found dead near her home in the 8100 block of South Morgan on the city's South Side. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled her death was caused by cold exposure.
A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for the following counties:
ILLINOIS: Boone; Cook; De Kalb; DuPage; Ford; Grundy; Iroquois; Kane; Kankakee; Kendall; La Salle; Lake; Lee; Livingston; McHenry; Ogle; Will; and Winnebago until noon Monday.
INDIANA: Benton; Jasper; Lake; Newton; and Porter until 1 p.m. EST Monday. Cass; Fulton; Grant; Huntington; Kosciusko; Marshall; Miami; Pulaski; Starke; Wabash; White; and Whitley until noon EST Monday. A Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for La Porte County until 10 a.m. EST Monday.
WISCONSIN: Columbia; Dane; Dodge; Fond Du Lac; Green; Green Lake; Iowa; Jefferson; Kenosha; Lafayette; Marquette; Milwaukee; Ozaukee; Racine; Rock; Sauk; Sheboygan; Walworth; Washington; and Waukesha until noon Monday.
A Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph counties in Michigan until 10 a.m. EST Monday.

Residents are advised to layer clothing during these frigid temperatures due to the elevated risk of frost bite.
"The night before I just lay it out, I know what I'm going to wear - my ski pants, my thermal jacket and then my hat," said Deb Winfield.
Christensen said he is also tracking some light snow south of Chicago, but is not expecting much accumulation.
CTA officials said this week that extreme conditions will not slow their trains down.
"Part of this set-up allows us to lay a coat of de-icing paste on the third rail to prevent future build-up. It gives us 45 minutes to an hour of ice-free build-up time," said Tom Dietrich, CTA.
