CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was killed and another man was injured in a Chicago shooting not far from a West Side elementary school.
Chicago police said an 18-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were outside on the sidewalk in the 200-block of North Central Avenue in the city's Austin neighborhood when an unknown assailant opened fire.
The 18-year-old was struck multiple times in the body and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 26-year-old was struck in the chest and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in fair condition.
The shooting happened around the corner from Duke Ellington Elementary School.
And investigation by Area Four Detectives is ongoing.
