A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at midnight and lasts until 6 p.m. Wednesday for Cook, Boone, De Kalb, DuPage, Lake, Kane, McHenry, Kankakee, Kendall, Will, LaSalle, and Livingston counties in Illinois and Jasper, Lake, Newton and Porter counties in northwest Indiana.
The advisory has been extended to midnight for several counties in northwest Indiana, due to the possibility of lake effect snow.

Areas under the advisory could see 2-5 inches of snow, but ABC7 Meteorologist Greg Dutra said warming temperatures during the day could cause there to be periods of rain/snow mix.

Chicago itself is expected to get about 2 to 3 inches of snow, possibly 4, Dutra said.
