While all warnings and watches have expired, the sudden storms caused flash flooding in Chicago and power outages. ComEd said as of 9:45 p.m. just over 29,000 customers are without power. They are working to restore power to those affected by outages.

At the juncture where Lake Shore Drive ends and Hollywood Avenue begins, flooding came on so swiftly cars were getting off the drive and onto the bike path. During the storm traffic backed up for more than a mile.
At Ravenswood and Irving Park roads, the street flooded as drivers cautiously tried to pass through. At least one stalled earlier.
In Lincolnwood, a gas station was under water. The gas pumps had to be shut down as the rain water took over.

And the Evanston Fire Department was called out to rescue several people out in Lake Michigan on sail boats. Two swimmers without life vests were rescued, and the U.S. Coast Guard also helped after eight boats capsized.
