Chicago weather: Potentially severe storms in forecast for area Monday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Potentially severe storms are in the forecast for the Chicago area Monday.

The Chicago area is under a Level 2 risk for severe weather.

ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist Tracy Butler said some storms could move through the area from 9 a.m. until noon.

Another round of storms which is expected to be the main severe threat will be from 4-11 p.m. Butler said it is possible there will be strong winds in the area between noon and 4 p.m. without the presence of storms.

The main concerns from the storm include high winds, but hail and tornadoes are possible.
