A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cook and Will counties in Illinois and Lake County in Indiana expired at 9 p.m.
Previous warning for DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and La Salle counties have also expired.
There was a possibility of tornadoes developing with the severe storms, the National Weather Service said.
