CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Mayor's Office has completed an internal review of a June 4 immigration raid, an office spokesperson said.

Some city leaders have been pushing the city to investigate allegations that Chicago police officers assisted federal agents, specifically during the June 4 raid in the South Loop.

In their report, the mayor's office said the Civilian Office of Police Accountability should have the authority to investigate potential violations of the Welcoming City Ordinance.

COPA does not currently have that explicit authority, the mayor's office said.

After Mayor Brandon Johnson's office's review, it's up to the Office of the Inspector General, COPA or the CPD Bureau of Internal Affairs to determine if they need to conduct an investigation, the mayor's office said.

ABC7 Chicago reached out to COPA for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
