A newly filed civil case alleges a fertility doctor secretly substituted his own DNA during treatment, resulting in the births of two girls.
Nikki Entzel continues to maintain her innocence.
"He spelled it out very clearly to us in his letters that he wanted to get help but that he would have to give up flying if he got help, and, in his words, he said life is not worth living if he could not fly," the student's father said.
Steve Shand, 47, a U.S. citizen from Florida who was driving the van, was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol.
Ten people have become ill, 10 have been hospitalized and one person has died across eight states in the listeria outbreak.
"Throw away any unlabeled onions at home. Do not eat, sell, or serve red, white, or yellow onions imported from Mexico and distributed U.S.-wide by ProSource Inc," the CDC warned in a tweet.
