CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three men have been charged in a train burglary in Englewood earlier this month, the Cook County Sheriff's Office said.
The Cook County Sheriff's Police Community Safety Team was working with the Norfolk Southern Railroad when a drone observed two people on top of a moving freight train at about 6:30 a.m. on December 19 near 60th Place and Stewart Avenue.
The sheriff's office said video showed two people breaking into a shipping container, throwing packages to the ground and jumping into an alley.
Officers took two men, 25-year-old Shaun Smythe and 26-year-old Marcus Moore, into custody in the 300-block of West 60th Place.
A third person, identified as 44-year-old Errol Miller, fled in a minivan and was taken into custody in the 100-block of West 87th Street.
Each man was charged with burglary and Miller was also charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, the sheriff's office said.
Both Miller and Moore were on pre-trial release for burglary charges at the time of their arrest, the sheriff's office said.
Smythe was granted pre-trial release on December 20 after an appearance in court.
Moore and Miller were also granted pre-trial release on December 20, but both are in custody for violating pre-trial release terms from their other cases, the sheriff's office said.
