3 in custody after Oak Park crash-and-grab burglary at pawn shop, police chase, police say

OAK PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- Several suspects are in custody after a smash-and-grab burglary at an Oak Park pawnshop and police chase Monday morning, police said.

Oak Park police responded at about 2:33 a.m. to the 6300-block of North Avenue.

Police said five burglars used one vehicle to smash into the pawn shop and used the second vehicle, a red sedan which was reported stolen in Chicago, to flee with proceeds from the burglary.

The vehicle crashed in Maywood after a chase with police and three of the five suspects were taken into custody.
