Big rig crash on I-80 near CA-NV border leaves truck hanging off bridge, CHP says
FLORISTON, Calif. -- A solo collision on Interstate 80 left a tractor-trailer truck hanging off the side of a bridge near the California-Nevada border Friday morning, causing major traffic delays.
The California Highway Patrol said traffic was being turned around at Hirschdale Road in Nevada County due to the crash near Floriston. All lanes have been blocked.
A photo shared by CHP showed a trailer laying on its side attached to a truck that was dangling off the side of the overpass.
Caltrans crews were able to detach the truck from its trailer in the afternoon and reopened most lanes a couple hours later.
The cause of the crash was not immediately made available, and it was unclear if there were any injuries.
