Man with autism who disappeared from Highland, Indiana has been found safe, police say

HIGHLAND, Ind. (WLS) -- A missing man with autism who was last seen riding a bicycle near his home in northwest Indiana has been found safe, police and and family members said.

Brody Shelton, 21, was last seen around noon Thursday near Laporte Street and Johnston Street in Highland, Indiana, officials said.

Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert, but police confirmed on Saturday evening that Shelton had been found.

"We have some very good news to share! Brody has been found and he is safe and in good health. He will be reunited with his family very shortly. We appreciate everyone's assistance and positive thoughts for Brody's safe return," Highland police said.
