Video shows terrifying moment trio in Halloween costumes torments family, attempts break in

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The terrifying moment a trio dressed in Halloween costumes tormented a family and attempted to break into their home in Alexandria, Virginia, was captured on camera.

The hair-raising ordeal, which lasted about 10 minutes, kicked off just before 9:50 pm on October 14, when one of the masked individuals rang the front doorbell.

Shayla Whiteside's ring camera footage shows the trio standing ominously in the front yard, before taking turns to ring the bell, knock on the door and jiggle its handle in an apparent attempt to force their way into the home.

"It's either you come out or we come in," one man is heard saying, as the trio demand the family open the door.

Whiteside told local media she first thought the unwelcome guests were pulling a prank, before their knocks got more intense and they started to make threats.

"They tried forcing the front door open, jiggled the handles, broke down my backyard fence, and tore through the back screen, screaming threats saying that they will kill us and that they were coming back," she told Storyful, adding the trio were unknown and the family wants answers.
