1 arrested for DUI in I-90 crash that injured 2, including EMS worker

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (WLS) -- A driver was arrested for DUI after s crash on I-90 in Hoffman Estates left two people injured, including an ambulance worker, Monday morning, Illinois State Police said.

There was an initial crash at about 1:56 a.m. involving a black Ford sedan and a black Kia SUV.

An ambulance was on the scene for that crash when a truck-tractor trailer struck one of the vehicle from the previous crash, which pushed a vehicle into an ambulance worker, police said.

A second semi also tried to stop, the hard braking caused its trailer load to shift and damaged the truck too.

The EMS driver, which A-TEC Ambulance confirms one of their employees was at the scene was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge...

The semi truck driver who was also hurt was taken to another nearby hospital.

The driver of the Ford was arrested for DUI, police said.

Police said all westbound lanes are blocked with traffic being forced off at Barrington Road. All lanes were back open around 8:15 a.m.
