CPD links crime to several more ATM thefts in past month

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A group of burglars stole from an ATM Thursday morning on the city's Southwest Side.
The crime happened around 5 a.m. at a Marquette Bank in the 5400 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Gage Park, Chicago police said.
Three other ATM thefts the same morning added to a total of about 30 similar crimes in one month.
Police said the thieves used tools to pry open the machine at the bank drive thru in Gage Park
The suspects got away in a white Jeep and a dark gray Acura, CPD said.
No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
Police are linking the crime with several others that have happened in the city in the last month, where thieves use pry bars or sledgehammers.
Chicago police said there have been nearly 30 of the crimes in one month.
Four of the crimes happened Thursday morning.
Police are telling businesses to keep properties well lit and secured.
