Catalytic converters stolen from dozens of school buses on West Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thieves stole catalytic converters from dozens of school buses, Chicago police said Wednesday.

The thefts happened overnight at the First Student, Inc. school bus facility near West Chicago Avenue and North Keeler Avenue on the West Side.

At least 33 buses were damaged, police said.

The company says it's bringing in additional buses from other locations to help cover routes.

No further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
