Thieves crash into Gage Park gas station in attempted ATM burglary, owner says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating after a gas station owner said thieves crashed into his business on Tuesday morning.

Chopper 7 was over the scene near 52nd Street and Western Avenue in the Gage Park neighbohood.

The gas station manager said a group tried to steal an ATM from inside.

The suspects allegedly ran away once they realized they couldn't remove it.

There is heavy damage to both the building and the vehicle.

Chicago police have not release information on the case.
