1 killed in Avondale apartment fire, Chicago Fire Dept. says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A person has died after an apartment fire on Chicago's Northwest Side, the fire department said.

Chicago firefighters worked the fire in the 3000 block of West Belmont Avenue.

By 4:30 p.m. firefighters had struck out the fire.

A CFD spokesperson confirmed one person died.

It was not immediately known if there were any other injuries.
