Chicago firefighter injured in Austin fire, CFD officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago firefighter was injured Wednesday night in a fire on the city's West Side, Chicago Fire Department officials said.

The fire broke out near West Thomas Street and North Waller Avenue in Austin.

The firefighter was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The fire has been controlled, CFD said. The cause is being investigated.
