Person shot near McDonald's in Back of the Yards, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A person was shot near a McDonald's restaurant Wednesday on the city's South Side.

The shooting happened around 4:23 p.m. in the 4200 block of South Ashland Avenue in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Chopper 7 was over the scene, where police could be seen investigation near the McDonald's restaurant at the location.

A 23-year-old man was shot at the location by an unknown offender, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was stable.

No further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
