Cook County launches e-Citation pilot program for traffic tickets

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Drivers in suburban Cook County won't have to wait days to see their traffic tickets anymore.

A new online system is rolling out to help drivers see, pay, or contest tickets faster.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

The e-Citation program automatically imports traffic moving violations to the clerk's office, which eliminates the clerk having to manually input the data and cuts down the wait time to be able to pay the ticket.

It currently takes 7-10 days for the ticket to appear in the system and with e-Citation, it can be found in as little as 24 hours.

Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County Mariyana Spyropoulos joined ABC7 to talk about the program.
