CHICAGO (WLS) -- A CTA bus crashed into a house after being struck by a driver who ran a stop sign, Chicago police said.
The crash happened on Saturday at about 10:40 p.m. in the 5500 block of N. Central Avenue, police said.
A CTA bus was heading northbound on Central when a black sedan, who was traveling eastbound on Catalpa, ran a stop sign.
The sedan crashed into the front driver's side of the CTA bus.
The impact of the crash caused the bus to strike a parked car, hit a fence then crash into the side of a home.
The driver of the black sedan fled the scene, police said.
A 46-year-old woman was driving the CTA bus. She suffered a laceration to the head.
Police said she was taken to an area hospital by CFD; she is expected to be OK.
No passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash.
Five people were displaced due to the crash since CFD determined the building sustained structural damage.
Nobody is in custody.
