The ongoing war of words between Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Donald Trump made an appearance on Tuesday's "The Daily Show."

Host Jon Stewart talked about the ongoing "Signfeud," referring to it as "a badger fighting a mongoose," among other issues that he says are difficult to pick sides on.

Emanuel and Trump have both spoken out about the sign, which was recently completed after the final letter was added to the building's facade. Emanuel has called the large sign "tasteless," while Trump maintains that the sign enhances the structure's beauty.

Not all Chicagoans, specifically architecture critics, agree. Stewart mentions Trump's feud with Pulitzer prize-winning architecture critic Blair Kamin, who called the sign a "wart" on the building.

But should Chicagoans really be surprised by Trump's bold sign? Stewart says no.

"It's what he does! Have you been to New York?" Stewart said during the segment. "He put up a string of apartment towers that literally block the sun from the entire upper west side of Manhattan."
