Food drive being held for locked-out BP workers in Whiting

WHITING, Ind. (WLS) -- Contract talks are expected to resume Monday between BP in Whiting, Indiana and the United Steelworkers.

Hundreds of workers have been locked out for about two months.

There are food drives underway to help those BP Refinery workers and their families.

People can drop off food, formula and personal care products at All Grindhouse Cafe locations, Paris Barber in Hammond, Fuzzyline Brewery in Hihgland, La Michoacana in Whiting and Gary Harm Reduction through the end of the month.

Items of need include infant formula, soap, feminine hygiene products, as well as food.

The union and BP remain split on issues that include job cuts, pay, and AI based innovation.
