

MCHENRY COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A boat accident shut down part of the Fox River for hours on Saturday, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.
What the McHenry Township Fire Protection District is calling a boating accident happened in the 2400-block of Riverside Drive West.
What led up to the accident was not immediately clear, and officials did not immediately provide information on any injuries.
The sheriff's office said the river was closed south of the McHenry Dam and asked residents to avoid the area as authorities investigated. The waterway has since reopened.
The sheriff's office urged residents to use caution traveling north of Route 176.
