Police officer accidentally shoots himself in leg

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A police officer is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in his leg.

The officer was "conducting an investigation" near 57th and Peoria in Englewood when the accident occurred.

He was taken to Oak Lawn's Christ Hospital in good condition.
