Possible meteor sighting reported in Montgomery, Illinois: VIDEO

MONTGOMERY, Ill. (WLS) -- ABC7 received calls from several viewers about a possible meteor in Kane County on Thursday night.

Video from Montgomery captured a bright flash in the sky.

ABC7 asked the Adler Planetarium what it could have been.

They say it could be a type of meteor that explodes in the atmosphere.

However, it could take a few days for the American Meteor Society to make a determination.
