President Trump says he'll attend Presidents Cup golf tournament at Medinah in September

MEDINAH, Ill. (WLS) -- President Donald Trump says he'll attend the Presidents Cup golf tournament at Medinah Country Club in the west suburbs next month.

He's the honorary chairman of the event that happens Sept. 24 through 27 in DuPage County.

Trump said on Truth Social he's attending at the request of the PGA Tour.

Trump attended the Ryder Cup matches last year at Bethpage Black on Long Island.

Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton attended the Presidents Cup together in New Jersey in 2017.

Trump also plans to travel to Ireland on Sept. 12 for the Irish Open.

He was last in Chicago in October 2024.
