SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- Darren Bailey, a Republican candidate for Illinois governor, confirmed he will continue his campaign despite a family tragedy.
He thanked supporters in a video posted online.
Bailey's son, daughter-in-law and two of their children died in a helicopter crash last month in Montana.
In explaining his decision to continue his campaign, Bailey talked about a conversation he had with President Donald Trump.
ABC7 is told that new campaign events are still in the works.
