
CHICAGO (WLS) -- There was a big show of support Sunday in Chicago for the Texas Democrats who fled to Illinois last week to protest congressional redistricting in their state.
Some of the lawmakers became emotional as Saint Sabina Church welcomed them.
The Texas House Democrats left their state to block a quorum and prevent a vote on a controversial redistricting plan.
It could give Republicans up to five additional seats in the House.

Critics accuse the lawmakers of evading responsibility.
The redistricting bill is set for a vote in the Texas House on Monday.
