US Coast Guard rescues snowmobile, rider stranded on Lake Michigan ice

MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (WLS) -- The U.S. Coast Guard made a daring rescue of a person stuck on an ice flow in Lake Michigan.

Timelapse footage shows the Coast Guard boat pull up alongside the ice flow.

The man and his snowmobile can be seen just to the left of the vessel.

He was pulled aboard the ship and given medical attention.

This happened near Mackinac Island, Michigan, on Sunday.

The person who was rescued was expected to be OK.
