The City of Chicago is suing carmakers Kia and Hyundai, saying their "failure to include industry-standard engine immobilizers" in various models has resulted in a steep rise in crime in the city.

Korean automakers Kia and Hyundai have agreed to an estimated $200 million class action legal settlement over claims that many of the companies' cars and SUVs are much too easy to steal.
Police say the victims all parked their cars on the street, and found them missing when they returned.
One of them was found shot full of holes at a Belmont-Cragin corner, as detectives continue to sort out several crimes in the area involving Hyundais and Kias.
