As aftershocks from last week's large earthquakes continue to shake SoCal, L.A. city leaders and first responders launched a citywide preparedness effort.

The roadway had endured major damage, causing havoc for residents fleeing the area following the quake.
Mayor Peggy Breeden said some "bad people" came into the community and tried to steal items from businesses.
