The GOP-led House Oversight Committee has officially withdrawn its request for former special counsel Robert Mueller to testify before the panel, a committee spokesperson told ABC News.
"A tentative date has been set for May 15. We hope the Special Counsel will appear," Rep. David Cicilline said on Fox News Sunday.
Barr informed the panel he wouldn't show up for the session on special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia report.
His departure ends a nearly two-year run defined by his appointment of a special counsel to investigate connections between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York is asking for the information by May 1.
Ultimately, Mueller found Trump's inner circle saved him from himself. They refused to carry out orders that could have crossed the line into obstructing justice.
