For the first time, the City of Killeen, Texas, released dash cam video from the night the man accused of killing Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen took his life.
"Why hide this evidence?," asked the family's attorney. "Justice for Vanessa includes accountability, legislation and good public policy."
The highest-ranking soldier fired in a Army scandal at the base in Fort Hood, Texas for failures of leadership related to the Vanessa Guillen case is also an Illinois native.
The investigation found 93 credible acts of sexual assault, only 59 of which had been previously reported.
The family of the army specialist from Houston, who was murdered earlier this year, is providing input in the gate's construction.
This means Vanessa Guillen's family is now entitled to a variety of Army benefits, including insurance along with final pay and allowances.
