The derby is a popular event of thoroughbred horse racing.

This year is the 152nd running at Churchill Downs.

The countdown to Derby Day is on and one designer with Chicago ties is helping shape the look of the season.

But the fashion is also an event in itself, especially the hats.

Kentucky native Jacey Rhorer is a Columbia College Chicago alum and the Official Milliner of the Kentucky Derby Festival. She joined ABC7 to talk about what goes into creating a hat and the design process.
