The weekend is here and it's time for some fun things to do inside to escape the cold!

One of a Kind Holiday Show - Merchandise Mart
The One of a Kind Holiday Show is back at the Merchandise Mart, featuring six hundred artists from around the country selling their handmade gifts. You can make a serious dent in your holiday shopping through Sunday.

Straight No Chaser - Civic Opera House
The acapella group Straight No Chaser has two performances on Saturday at the Civic Opera House - 3:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Dave Koz Christmas Tour - Chicago Theatre

Dave Koz brings his 20th Anniversary Christmas Tour to the Chicago Theatre Saturday at 8:00 p.m. with special guests David Benoit, Rick Braun, Peter White and Selina Albright.

PAWS Chicago Holiday Adopt-A-Thon - 1997 N Clybourn Ave.
PAWS Chicago Holiday Adopt-A-Thon is underway at the adoption center on North Clybourn. Their goal is to adopt 100 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, so they'll be open until 11:00 p.m. Friday and again from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Remember, pets are members of the family - not holiday gifts!

Home Alone in Concert - Symphony Center
See the classic movie "Home Alone" in a new light - with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing the score - live! Home alone in concert will be performing Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 and 4:30 p.m.
Barney The Elf - Greenhouse Theater Center
For a different spin on a holiday classic, check out "Barney the Elf" at the Greenhouse Theater Center on North Lincoln Avenue. In this musical parody, when Santa retires, his wicked son begins a not-so-jolly reign as the new head of Christmas! When things begin to fall apart, Barney the elf is forced out, but ends up on a fabulous journey of self-discovery. It runs through December 20.

Chanukah Wonderland - Northbrook Court
And Hanukkah begins Tuesday at sundown, but the family fun starts this weekend at Chanukah Wonderland at Northbrook Court! Sunday through Wednesday they'll have menorah-making workshops, doughnut decorating, olive oil making demonstrations and a giant dreidel moon-bounce!

Medieval Times, New Show - Schaumburg
There's something new at Medieval Times in Schaumburg and it revolves around the queen! For the first time in five years, there's a new storyline with a queen as sole ruler of the land! Other updates include hundreds of new costumes, new jousting and fight scenes and a new score!

Shopkins Live - Rosemont Theatre
For the young set, it's Shopkins Live at the Rosemont Theatre! Based on the hot selling toy, it features the Shoppies and Shopkins characters on stage with original music and video highlights. Showtime 4 p.m. Saturday.

Tidings of Tap - North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, Skokie
On the holiday beat, the Tidings of Tap will be at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie on Sunday. This unique holiday concert features the Chicago Tap Theatre tapping out songs of Christmas, Hanukkah and the winter season, along with live music! Showtime 3:00 pm.

Christmas Bingo - Royal George Theatre
At the Royal George Theatre, it's a ho-ho-holy night with Christmas Bingo! Brush up on your yuletide trivia, because you'll be playing for prizes during this interactive show! It runs through January 5.

'Beautiful, The Carole King Musical' - Cadillac Palace Theatre
At the Cadillac Palace Theatre, "Beautiful, The Carole King Musical" is now in performance. If you missed it the first time around, catch it now! This terrific show with a soundtrack to a generation runs through January 28.
