Interactive displays stand out at Chicago Auto Show
On the second day of the Chicago Auto Show, it's the interactive displays that really stand out.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- When you come to the largest car show in North America you take a map and find the hottest cars. But it's the interactive displays that really stand out.

From old fashioned pinball machines to driving simulators, folks are waiting in line, sometimes up to an hour, for these interactive displays.

There are also six outdoor test drives or three indoor tracks visitors can ride in.

With over 1 million square feet to cover, there is one test drive that stands out, and up, and down: the Jeep display, referred to as Camp Jeep, in the South Hall.

Climb in and experience a hill descent from a two storey 35-degree angle and its brake lock differential as it goes on two wheels. This is not for the faint of heart, but it is what everyone is talking about.

Ford calls its performance simulator a "quote" a fast paced thrill ride. What else can you say? This isn't the auto shows of yesteryear.

The Chicago Auto Show runs through Feb. 22nd. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for seniors and children ages 7 to 12, and free for children 6 and under.

If you're going to the auto show this year be sure to open the ABC7 Chicago News app on your iPhone after you arrive at McCormick Place. We'll be sending out special alerts and messages that will only be visible to folks attending the auto show. If you have an iPhone and don't have our FREE app, you can get it here.
